Do you know?: Your Shampoo May Cause Your Hair Problem

Ever wondered why shampoos and conditioners sometimes stop working for your hair and why the products that used to give you that ‘fresh out of the salon feel’ now leave your hair looking limp and lifeless?

Did you know, many mainstream shampoos and conditioners use silicones to give your hair that silky smooth feel? Silicones are often used as a cheap ingredient to give added shine to your hair, but could they actually be damaging your hair long-term?

What is silicone and how it affects your hair?

“Silicone is almost like rubber and/or plastic. It is used as a sealant against water and even air. It is not a natural ingredient and its side effects are bad for our hair. It gives the hair the illusion of shine, but it is not the shine we want—it is a fake shine from the plastic. The shine we want is when the cuticle layer is sealed and light reflects off the hair. This only happens when hair is properly hydrated and kept as healthy as possible.

Silicone will weigh the hair down making it limp, lifeless, and with time, very dull. It prevents moisture from penetrating the hair shaft and becomes like a magnet for dirt and other ingredients. So in essence, we get a good shine for a couple of days, but over time it will attract more buildup on the hair. With time it will dry the hair out because it won't allow in the conditioner and it ends up sitting on the surface. Due to lack of moisture, the hair will become very brittle and could lead to frizz and breakage.

When switched to a silicone-free shampoo, some will noticed that the hair looked very dry and dull at first. It was also very tangled and hard to comb through. After a while when the hair gets used to the shampoo the hair started to have a lot of volume and never looked better. You have to remember that it is almost as you are detoxing your hair from all the nasty silicone.

Conclusion

Every time you wash your hair with a shampoo that has silicone the coating of the silicone on your hair will build up and make it harder to get it out of your hair. Silicones can also lead to hair loss, extremely dry and itchy scalp and cancer. As I mentioned the dying your hair will be useless because it is going to fade very quickly, any hair treatment that will help your hair such as oils won’t work at all because the silicone is sealing up the hair.

Change to silicone free Shampoo can makes your hair healthier and solve some hair problem that cause from the shampoo you using currently (Example: hair loss, dry scalp, oily hair & etc)
